Day 19 of the February Daily Painting Challenge

After doing a few quick wintry sketches, I decided to focus on Spring again. New Beginnings will be an oil painting on 16" x 16" cradled panel, and maybe a pastel painting as well. The inspiration is the little sketch of a Bluebell Forest in Belgium. Aspens and Bluebells? Why not!

Day 18 of the February Daily Painting Challenge

Blue Spaces #1, acrylic on 16" x 16" cradled board. Painting in Progress.

Exploring the color blue and the happy feelings it evokes. Also learning a lot about layering and glazing acrylic colors.

Day17 of the February Daily Painting Challenge

Day 16 of the February Daily Painting Challenge

Another bird painting in progress. Acrylic on 12" x 12" cradled panel.

It is missing something, probably a few trees. Also, the color scheme needs some changes.

Day 15 of the February Daily Painting Challenge

Snowy Chickadee, acrylic on 6" x 6" cradled board.

Day 14 of the February Daily Painting Challenge

Red and Blue, acrylic on cradled panels, 5" x 6" each

I am experimenting with acrylic textures. These were created utilizing plastic wrap. Of course, texture is somewhat difficult to spot in a photo.
