The painting is coming along, but need more definition and branches etc.
The drawback of painting in oil is, that the paint will be too tacky to continue working on for a couple of days.
I plan to let it sit and work on some other pieces.
Exploring the color blue and the happy feelings it evokes. Also learning a lot about layering and glazing acrylic colors.

I am experimenting with acrylic textures. These were created utilizing plastic wrap. Of course, texture is somewhat difficult to spot in a photo.

Oil paintings require more planning than acrylic works, considering drying times and conditions for varnish application.
Oil paint, however, is still my favorite medium for color blending.
I do enjoy the glazing and stenciling techniques possible in acrylics.
Because of their transparency and drying speed, acrylic paints are an ideal medium for layering colors and for creating textures.
